ORDERING

How to Order

Orders can be placed directly online through jarrahcatering.com.au or via email: [email protected].

 

Minimum Notice

A minimum of 24 hours notice is usually required for orders.

 

Urgent Orders
If you have an urgent necessity or circumstance (less than 24 hours notice), please get in touch with us directly via phone or email. We can often make things happen, subject to availability.

 

Order Cut-Off Times

For standard planning, please note the following cut-off times:

Order for Monday: Cut off is 3pm Friday

Order for Tuesday: Cut off is 10am Monday

Order for Wednesday: Cut off is 10am Tuesday

Order for Thursday: Cut off is 10am Wednesday

Order for Friday: Cut off is 10am Thursday

Order for Saturday: Cut off is 10am Friday

Order for Sunday: Cut off is 10am Friday

 

MINIMUM ORDERS

Our Minimum on all orders is:

Weekdays: $350 + GST + delivery fee

Weekends: $1000 + GST + delivery fee

Orders under these minimums may not be accepted, subject to availability and viability.

 

ORDER CONFIRMATION

Once an order has been placed (online or via email), you will receive an initial notification or acknowledgement.

A team member from Jarrah Catering will then review and formally accept your order, notifying you via email or phone.

At this stage, you will be notified if any non-standard delivery charges apply (e.g., outside standard hours, 30km+ distance).

 

Your order is only confirmed once you receive this acceptance notification from our team.

The final invoice will be issues to you after the order is confirmed, unless you are an approved account holder.

 

ORDER REVIEW + TRACKING

How to Review your Order

Once your order has been confirmed, you will receive an email detailing your order. Alternatively, you can log into your account on jarrahcatering.com.au to see order history, call our office on 1300 491 763, or email us at [email protected].

 

Tracking Number

We do not typically issue tracking numbers for standard deliveries. Our team manages delivery logistics internally.

Any issues regarding your order, please reference your quote, order or tax invoice number.

 

 

DELIVERY

Standard Delivery Times

We deliver between 8am and 5pm weekdays.

 

Extended Hours + Weekends

Deliveries can potentially be arranged outside these standard hours, including weekends, but are strictly subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Please discuss requirements when ordering.

 

Weekday Delivery Zones + Fees

CBD + CBD - 5km: $30 flat rate

5km - 15km from CBD: $50 flat rate

15km - 30km from CBD: $75 flat rate

30km+ from CBD: Orders beyond 30km are subject to custom delivery charges and will be quoted based on location and requirements.

 

Weekend CBD Delivery Fees

Weekend orders for the CBD meeting the $1000 minimum will include a $250 delivery fee.

 

Pick Up Option

For health and safety reasons, and to maintain the strict controls required by our HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) food safety plan, collection by customers from our production kitchen is not available. All orders are fulfilled exclusively through our delivery service.

 

PO Boxes 

Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to PO Boxes.

 

Delivery Format 

Food is predominantly delivered on platters, BioPak boxes, or foil containers, ready to serve.

 

Collection of Serving Ware

Collection of used platters, boxes, urns, etc., is usually scheduled for the same day or the next business day. This collection may incur an additional delivery/collection cost, which will be advised if applicable. Please ensure all serving ware is accounted for and ready for collection at the agreed time. Missing or damaged items will be invoiced at replacement cost plus an administration fee.

 

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Allergen Advice 

Please be aware that our food may contain or come into contact with common allergens, such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish. While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. Please consider this when requesting special dietary requirements.

 

Catering for Requirements 

Jarrah Catering can accommodate most dietary requirements with sufficient advance notice.

 

Notification

All dietary requirements must be provided in writing (via email or during online order notes) prior to your catering event day. Your dietary is not confirmed until Jarrah Catering has acknowledged it can be safely accommodated.

 

Labelling

All dietary-specific items will be plated/boxed separately and clearly labelled. An allergen card will be included as a general guide.

MENU + STAFFING

Menu Selections

All food and beverage menus are subject to change based on seasonality and availability of produce. If a substitution is necessary, a Jarrah Catering representative will contact you to provide options and get approval prior to making a change. We pride ourselves on using native and locally sourced ingredients.

 

Minimum Quantities/Guests 

A minimum number of guests or quantity of items may apply to certain menus or items. If your anticipated numbers reduce below any stated minimum, Jarrah Catering reserves the right to charge for the minimum requirement.

 

Number Confirmation 

Confirmation of final guest numbers must be received in writing. All numbers confirmed 48 hours prior to the catering event delivery/start time will be regarded as the minimum number for catering and charging purposes. Increases after this time may be accepted subject to availability, but no decreases will be accepted for charging purposes. 

 

Staffing

Staffing costs will be incurred for events requiring on-site service. Details are in the "Staff Hire" section.

 

Availability

Selected menu items may not be available on weekends and public holidays due to supplier limitations.

 

Food Safety (Consumption Time)

All food should be stored safely. If not kept refrigerated below 5°C or heated above 65°C, it should be consumed within 2 hours of delivery. After 2 hours, any remaining food can be refrigerated promptly for later consumption that day. Any food left out for 4 hours or more (cumulative time) cannot be safely refrigerated or reheated and must be disposed of. Jarrah Catering is not liable for the health and safety of customers for food consumed outside these guidelines or after removal from a staffed event. 

 

LIQUOR LICENCE+ RESPONSIBLE SERVICE

Under the Liquor Act 2007 (VIC) and Liquor Act 1992 (QLD), it is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.

Jarrah Catering supports the responsible service of alcohol.

 

Proof of Age

If you look under 25, you will be asked to present valid photo identification upon delivery.

 

Intoxication

We will not serve or deliver to intoxicated persons.

 

Age Verification

When placing an order containing alcohol, you confirm you are 18 years or older and provide your date of birth. The recipient of the delivery must also be over 18 and may need to show ID.

 

Contract of Sale
Your contract of sale is with Jarrah Catering, pursuant to the relevant state Liquor Licence attached to our licensed premises at Abbotsford Food Hall for VIC orders XXX for QLD orders. The sale occurs at our licensed premises. Your order is subject to acceptance, age verification, and stock availability.

 

Delivery Refusal

Delivery will not occur if it risks breaching the Liquor Act (e.g., recipient appears intoxicated, underage, cannot provide ID, suspected secondary supply).

 

Non-Delivery

If delivery fails (e.g., wrong address, recipient unavailable, refusal under RSA), we may offer redelivery (potentially at extra cost) or a refund, potentially less reasonable costs incurred.

 

Unattended Deliveries 

Liquor will not be left at unoccupied premises.

 

PAYMENT, DEPOSITS + CANCELLATIONS

Payment Timing

Payment for all orders must be made prior to delivery, unless you are an approved corporate account holder with agreed credit terms. Orders placed on our website require upfront payment via credit card.

 

Payment Methods

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). We do not accept AMEX.

 

Payment Fees

Payments made by Visa, Mastercard, or EFT incur a 2% processing fee.

 

Third-Party Payments

If you place an order catering for a third party who is responsible for the account, the order must still be paid for in full prior to delivery.

 

Deposits

Larger events or orders may require a deposit (e.g., 50% pre-payment) upon confirmation. Jarrah Catering reserves the right to request deposits as needed.

 

Credit Hold

Jarrah Catering reserves the right to put companies or individuals on credit hold for outstanding invoices.

 

Cancellation Policy

A minimum cancellation notice of 36 hours prior to your event delivery time is required.

If an order is cancelled less than 36 hours before the scheduled delivery time, cancellation charges will apply (this may be a percentage of the invoice or the full amount, particularly where food production or labour scheduling costs have already been incurred).

Cancellations must be made via email to [email protected] or by phone call confirmed in writing.

For Monday orders, cancellation must be received no later than 12 pm on the preceding Friday to avoid charges

 

REFUND POLICY

Refund and Credit Policy

If goods or services received are defective, significantly not as described, or deemed unfit for purpose, a full refund or replacement may be provided at Jarrah Catering's discretion. This includes issues like damage caused in-transit or significant omissions from an order. Products cannot be returned or refunded due to change of mind or incorrect choice.

 

Minor Issues

Where an issue is deemed minor and does not substantially impact the order or service, a Store Credit may be offered as an alternative to a refund or replacement.

 

Our Guarantee 

We guarantee that our goods:

Are of acceptable quality (safe, durable, free from significant defects, acceptable appearance).

Match the description provided, although presentation may vary slightly as products are handmade.

 

Store Credit Conditions

Where Store Credits are issued, they are:

Not redeemable or transferable for cash.

Must be used within 3 years of issue.

Generally intended for a like-for-like product or offering.

Cannot be re-established once used.

The entire credit value must generally be used in one transaction unless otherwise agreed.

Not transferable between different customers or companies.

 

Reporting Issues 

To request a Replacement, Refund, or Credit, please email [email protected] within 24 hours of your order delivery time. Use the Subject Title: "Refund/Credit Request - Your Business Name/Order Number". Please provide details of the issue and attach photos if possible.

 

Cancellation Refunds

If a cancellation is made less than 36 hours prior to the event delivery time, a refund or store credit will generally not be granted due to costs incurred. However, where possible, we may arrange for suitable food items to be donated to a local charity on your behalf.

GST

All prices listed or quoted are exclusive of GST. GST will be added to the final invoice.

STAFF HIRE

Availability 

Highly trained wait staff and function supervisors are available for serviced events.

Booking

Booking of staff must ideally be made 7 days prior to the event.

Charges

Staff are charged at an hourly rate with a minimum engagement of four hours per staff member. Travel time may also be charged depending on the venue location relative to North Melbourne.

Supervision 

A Jarrah Catering function supervisor is required for all staffed functions and events offsite.

Additional Hours

Any additional hours worked by staff due to event changes, venue issues, or circumstances beyond our control will be charged to the client post-event.

Cancellation

Cancellation of booked staff must be made at least 5 full days prior to the event to avoid charges. Cancellations made within 5 days of the event may be charged up to 100% of the estimated staff cost. 

 

OTHER TERMS + CONDITIONS

Price Variations

Every endeavour is made to maintain prices; however, they are subject to change without notice due to factors like seasonal availability and supplier costs.

Circumstances Beyond Control (Force Majeure) 

Jarrah Catering is not liable for failure to perform its obligations if such failure is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions, power failures).

Termination by Jarrah Catering 

Jarrah Catering reserves the right to cancel a booking or delivery if: the venue is unavailable due to external factors; the client becomes insolvent; the event might damage Jarrah Catering's reputation; required payments are not made by due dates; or the client breaches these terms.

Liability Waiver

Jarrah Catering is not responsible for theft, damage, or loss of goods in public areas or venues, nor for services contracted independently by the client (e.g., transport not booked by Jarrah).

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland and Victoria, Australia.

Corporate Accounts

Corporate accounts with credit terms are available on application for regular clients. Please contact our Catering Manager at [email protected] for details and a business credit application form.

 

HACCP

Jarrah Catering maintains HACCP certification for its kitchen and operations located in Victoria. Our Queensland (Brisbane) facility does not currently hold HACCP certification.
